For me, music works. I wake up and play some of my favourite songs and this keeps me going. Me and Chikoo (My younger daughter) enjoy this part of the morning together. </p><h4>Sip-in Something</h4><p>Luke-warm water is the best, this is the first thing I consume after I wake up and after that, I go for a coffee (no milk, no sugar), I prepare this myself and this again helps me get charged up.</p><h4>Some physical activity</h4><p>Either with my coffee or sometimes after finishing it I Stretch and do some basic workout, it lasts for 15 to 30 minutes depending upon my feelings at that time, Here again, my trusted partners are music and chikoo. only what comes in our way that leads to dissatisfaction and demotivation at the end of the day. </p><h4>Can&#8217;t we take a break of a day or two from our work?</h4><p>Yes, you can and you should. But don&#8217;t take forced breaks.</p><h4>What are forced breaks?</h4><p>When you don&#8217;t need a break and you just take it only for the heck of it. We all are different, we all have different working styles, conditions and zeal towards what we are working on. I might feel like taking a break once a month, for you it might be once every week. When we go on forced break, at the end of the break we feel that it was not really required and regret creeps in.  So don&#8217;t take forced breaks.</p><h4>Points to be taken care of </h4><p>Almost in all my posts, talks and write-ups, you will find one thing in common. Take care of physical and mental health. Sometimes, we just confuse taking care of health with taking a break. You can do regular work-out and meditation or other activities, which will add value for your health with your regular work.</p><h4>Planning your day is extremely important.</h4><ul><li><p>Plan your day in written format.</p></li><li><p>Jot down the core tasks to be undertaken.</p></li><li><p>Be very specific and crisp about what are things you want to achieve today</p></li><li><p>Assign times.</p></li></ul><h4>What if I was not able to work on my plan?</h4><p>It is totally ok. Just reflect on it (Again do it in written format), plan the next day accordingly. </p><h4>What to do on the days you are taking breaks?</h4><ul><li><p>Don&#8217;t just sit on the couch and binge-watch series(s)</p></li><li><p>Spend time with family and friends.</p></li><li><p>Do something which is completely different from your work</p><ul><li><p>You can cook, dance, sing, draw, play board games, go for a walk,  or do whatever you enjoy other than your work, go for</p><p></p></li></ul></li></ul><blockquote><p><strong>&#8220;Look at a day when you are supremely satisfied at the end. People don&#8217;t say NO because of FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out).</p><p>We are living in a world of information overload and most of the information we consume is not at all relevant for us.</p><p>Just sit down for a while and make a note of what is the most important activity for you in this particular phase of your life and then list out what you actually need to do that activity.</p><p>You will find that only a few things are required to do that activity or only a few things contribute to your core activity. The rest of the things are just creating problems and consuming your time unnecessarily.</p><p>Before you say yes or you get involved in a particular activity just ask yourself whether it will contribute to the goals that really matter for you or not.</p><p>Learn to <strong>PRIORITISE</strong>.</p><p>It is not just the humongous amount of information we are consuming unnecessarily, we are also letting others impose their opinion on us or even force us to give our opinion even if it is not required at all.</p><p>We all have to choose deliberately and purposefully where we need to focus, otherwise, we are leaving our mind on autopilot mode and it will definitely be lured by things that are not going to contribute anything to our life goals.</p><p>Rather than spending time on unnecessary information and activity, spend some time with yourself. I was used to waiting for my favourite serial for one week. I used to be there at the time it was to be telecasted; otherwise, I could have missed it. Even when &#8220;CABLE TV&#8221; era started, we were used to see TV serial at a particular time.</p><p>Coming to the current situation, we can watch whatever we want, whenever we want and wherever we want. We deliberately don&#8217;t watch a single episode; we go for a binge-watch.</p><p>We want immediate gratification in everything. Almost in everything. We post pictures and videos, and we keep pulling down to refresh the screen to see the number of likes and comments.</p><p>We have amazon which delivers the very next day; we have dominos which delivers in 30 minutes (Otherwise it is free.)</p><p>We want what we want, and we want it now.</p><p>This is somewhere becoming the root cause of many problems in our life. We have almost forgotten how to delay gratification and enjoy the journey. This &#8220;IMMEDIATE GRATIFICATION&#8221; leads us to FOMO &#8211; Fear of Missing out, which ultimately leads to decisions taken in haste.</p><p>Would love to know your views, incidents and examples related to same.
